There is no magic button for faster STC payment. There is a short list of habits that remove most of the delay.
1. Make the claim complete first time
Most delay is rework. A claim with missing photos, mismatched serials or an unsigned form goes back and forth. A pre-lodgement checklist, run on the day of install, is the single biggest time saver. See the photo requirements and assignment form guide.
2. Lodge quickly
Send the claim the same day or the next. A backlog builds fast at month end, and the deeming period change at the end of the year will add pressure.
3. Choose a trader with a stated timeline
Ask for the number of days from complete claim to cash. The difference between “24 hours” and “up to 10 business days” is large. See how long STC payment should take.
4. Get pre-checked
A compliance desk that reviews claims before lodgement catches errors while the installer still remembers the job.
5. Keep your details current
Bank, ABN and agent details should match the registry. A mismatch can freeze a payment.
What not to do
Do not lodge a claim you know is incomplete in the hope it will clear. Do not resubmit a claim while it is pending. Do not change bank details just before a payment. Do not leave claims until the end of the month. Each of these is a common cause of delay, and each is within your control. A little discipline here makes the difference between a trader that pays you in a day and a trader that seems slow when the cause was the paperwork.
What this means for installers
For new partners we settle a first claim in 48 to 72 hours while we verify your details, then established partners move to 24-hour settlement, with the rate locked on lodgement of a complete claim. See how it works, and the pricing page. If you are weighing a change, read stc payment delay reasons and the switching guide.
